Jesus looked at them and said, "For mortals it is impossible, but not for God; for God all things are possible."

Mark 10:27

Reflection
Reflection

Throughout the gospels Jesus performs many miracles, thus he demonstrates that he possesses the power of God to do things that are otherwise impossible. Humanly speaking there are many situations in life that seem impossible, but God’s power is not limited by such constraints. Jesus manifests power over all of life’s seemingly unchangeable circumstances.

In our culture, it is easy to assume that we are self-made. But part of what it means to be Christian is to accept that we are in constant need of God’s help and provision. There is too much that lies outside of our control. And because there are things in life that we simply do not possess the power to change, we have to rely on God for whom all things are possible.

Prayer
Prayer

God, I acknowledge that it is Christ who is my hope. I am in constant need of your help and provision. Help me to release to you that which I cannot change. Grant me faith to believe that you will take care of me. For through you, all is possible.

Amen.
